"Got to Be NC is an initiative on behalf of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services to promote North Carolina agricultural products and goods. Our mission is to promote and expand markets for North Carolina agricultural products both domestically and internationally in support of our state’s $95+ billion plus food, fiber and forestry industries."
"Helping women entrepreneurs identify issues and develop innovative solutions.
Our Goals:

Grow the network of women food entrepreneurs in the Piedmont region and North Carolina.

Share resources and best practices with other food incubators through a “train the trainer” model to enable these incubators to better assist and serve women food entrepreneurs.

Create a resource guide for women entrepreneurs in food business at all levels with various backgrounds and lived experiences.

Create a safe space where women food entrepreneurs of all backgrounds and experiences can share information and lessons learned in addition to developing strong support networks.

Develop a series of training workshops with a focus on breaking down barriers faced by women of all backgrounds in food businesses.

Reduce the number of women food entrepreneurs closing their businesses -- WE Power Food has learned that women food entrepreneurs are twice as likely to close their business than male food entrepreneurs."
